  • A brief overview of the historical context of the book of Revelation

A brief synopsis of the historical context to the book of Revelation.

  • Explanation of the Biblical Study Process

A short description of the “process” of Biblical Study giving definitions for words such as “exegesis and hermeneutics.” If you aren’t familiar with these terms, you might want to check this document out!

  • Apocalyptic Literature Study Notes

From the Bible Project - study notes that accompany the video, “How to Read the Bible - Apocalyptic Literature.” Very helpful in understanding HOW to read this important genre of Biblical literature

  • A Look at Eschatology

An article that I wrote outlining the four prominent “views” in Christianity regarding the second coming of Christ and detailing the “view” I believe is faithful to good Biblical study and sound theology. In addition, I have included comments made by the Pastor Glen Schlecht of Immanuel Lutheran Church (my pastor) who taught on a few of these issues in November of 2021.

  • Dr. Ed Seely's Lecture on Dispensationalism

Don’t be intimidated by this handout! Dr. Ed Seely is a pastor, former Seminary Professor, author, current teacher/educator for the global church. This article specifically addresses the “theology” of Dispensationalism.

  • "The Playing Field has Changed"

We aren’t in “Kansas” anymore…nor are we living in the dynamics of first-century Roman imperialism. We, as followers of Jesus, are facing our own cultural pressures. The world that Jesus is speaking to through the book of Revelation is OUR world! Here are some “truths” about the culture in which we live!

  • "Heaven - Some Thoughts"

A study written by Robin exploring the message of the Bible regarding heaven and eternity. Though not specifically “reviewed” in our class, this is some important and thought-provoking material.

  • A Brief Sketch of AMillenialism by Dr. Anthony Hoekema

This paper was recommended to me by the unflappable and brilliant Dr. Ed Seely (my friend and fellow Jesus follower at Immanuel, Loveland). Dr. Hoekema outlines the key aspects of the AMillenialism view of eschatology (say that fast five times!)

  • Why study the book of Revelation?

Robin adapted and edited a blog series written by a colleague. This is a “long” document (close to 30 pages) but it is packed with good info on this amazing biblical book!
